SRC 097: Jem And The Holograms (2015)

When your 80's cartoon adaptation looks more like a Disney Channel bio pic than it does anything remotely resembling the beloved source material, you know you've autotuned your way into the Restroom...

JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS deals with four marginally talented teens who find their way to fame and fortune after posting ONE YouTube vid of the lead character Jem (Aubrey Peeples) singing with a guitar. Hell, if was this easy to get a record deal, we'd ALL be posting videos of our marginal talents.  Veteran actors Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis show up to sleepwalk through most of this stale material.

This musical abomination is available for streaming on Amazon or VUDU for a couple of bucks, but if you're a cheapskate (like us), you can find it streaming for free HERE.  As always, you're better off leaving these cartoon bastardizations to us and go watch the original cartoon series instead (HERE).

Here's the pic of Kealeen's little boy doppelganger we mentioned on the show.  Who knew?

American freelance journalist and author Talia Soghomonian joins us via France as part of our extended co-flushing team this time out.

Sit back now and give a listen as Griffin, Crest, & Knight flush you down the Cinematic Bowl with, JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS...
