SRC 150: Godzilla (1998)

When your big budget creature feature plays more like a cultural appropriation documentary than it does a thrilling monster stomp, you know you've crush, crumbled, and chomped your way into the Restroom...

GODZILLA deals with the famed Japanese rubber suit monster re-imagined as a giant CGI iguana who wreaks havoc on greater Manhattan in an effort to nest inside Madison Square Garden and lay his eggs.  It's up to Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick), Leon The Professional (Jean Reno), and Chief Wiggum (Hank Azaria) to take it down before he wipes out New York.  What follows are 139 minutes of reaction shots, miscast actors, horrible NY accents, and a passive aggressive shot at the late film critics Gene Siskel & Roger Ebert.

This CGI monster stomping mess is available for streaming on Amazon and YouTube, but as always, you're better off leaving this cinematic Blue Oyster Cult tribute to us and go watch the 1954 original classic film instead.

Joining us as part of our extended co-flushing team this time out are Paul Hawkins & Brian Klosterman, hosts of the BlokeBusters podcast.

Sit back now and give a listen as Griffin, Crest, & Knight flush you down the Cinematic Bowl with, GODZILLA...
