SRC 152: My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006)

When your superhero rom com plays more like a sexual harassment video on what NOT to do in the workplace than it does a fun, comedy romp, you know you've superpowered your way into the Restroom...

MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND deals with a lonely superhero (Uma Thurman) who hooks up with an architect (Luke Wilson), only to turn his life upside down once he wants to end the brief relationship and move onto someone else. What follows are 96 minutes of unfunny sexist jokes, superhero hooker costumes, Jerry Springer level domestic squabbles, and talented comedians like Anna Faris and Wanda Sykes phoning in their pay-the-bills performances.

This humorless super-dud is available for streaming on VUDU and Amazon, but as always, you're better off leaving this lame sitcom material to us and go watch WHEN HARRY MET SALLY again for real superhero comedy.

Our special guest this time out is author and historian, Jay Sandlin.  Sandlin is the creator and founder of The Novel Comics: Alternate History.  With Superheroes.  The first volume, Outbreak Mutiny, will debut in early April.  He also is currently on a speaking tour at various universities with his research on slavery and he Golden Age Of Social Media In America.

Sit back now and give a listen as Griffin, Crest, Polton, & Knight flush you down the Cinematic Bowl with, MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND...
