HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS deals with the classic cartoon in live action form as Jim Carrey desperately tries anything to be funny as the title character of the Grinch, who hates on the Who's Christmas celebration for reasons we're subjected to in an unnecessary backstory.  What follows are 104 minutes of ugly makeup, embarrassing performances, overblown production design, and off color jokes.  Merry Christmas!
